WHERE Lucas works. A series.

Precoa’s office closed a few days before the masses closed because they had a confirmed case of Covid-19 among their employees. Before there was a known case, Precoa was prepping remote workstations for callers and allowed anyone to work from home who wanted to avoid exposure. Little did everyone know that soon the entire office would quickly be closed and the governor would issue a stay at home mandate so the office would stay closed for months… It’s now been 6 weeks and there is no sign of the stay at home order being lifted.

Lucas has always fantasized about the work remote life. Who hasn’t?! But 2 days into working from home he knew he hated it. Spending 7-10 hours a day on zoom meetings is pretty taxing. He finds comfort and distraction in moving location multiple times a day. See photos.

This was the day Lucas realized he hated working from home. He thought being outside would help, it was raining and he went out anyway. You have to admire his perseverance.

I wish I would have started photographing Lucas in his remote work setting sooner because I missed some good ones. Luckily we still have some highlights and the best version when he joined a conference call and presented while floating in the river.

Best spot yet… South Fork American River. Lucas said, “That was by far the best conference call of my life.”

At home, Lucas said, “how many consecutive days do you think I can go without wearing underwear? Going commando in ABC pants is the best.” Then every night when we went on a family walk, 5 minutes in he would say, “I forgot that underwear is an essential part of significant walks.”

After hunching over irregular work stations for a few weeks, Lucas decided to move his desk from the office to our house. This desk is super heavy and large. He used a dolly to roll it out of the Precoa office and hit a tv monitor on the way… RIP flatscreen.

Work locations not pictured: road tripping to CA, peeing in the back yard, pantsless.

We don’t have a date yet for Oregon’s stay at home order to be lifted so there are likely more variations of Lucas’ remote work locations coming…

Tennyson figured out how to adjust Lucas’ desk. It’s both scary and exciting to him.
