Murphy’s Berry First Birthday

Posted on

Murphy is officially one year old!

We originally planned to do this party on Saturday, July 9th, but the Monday before Tennyson’s cold turned into Croup and we didn’t know what the week would hold so we postponed the party one week. Due to the date change our RSVP list went from 30+ to about 10. Then the morning of the party Murphy threw up all over her crib. And again after we finished showering her. So our party was just our little family. But it was still wonderful 🙂

Luckily the kids love berries because we planned on making crepes for the party and I had bought a ton of raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries for toppings.

Such a ray of sunshine!

Murphy is going through such a fun age. She laughs harder for Tennyson than anyone else. She loves to be in the action and crawls so dang fast. She can walk a little when she tries but she crawls so fast she isn’t motivated to walk yet. One of her favorite places is the hot tub (don’t worry we keep it at baby friendly temps). Actually she loves all water, including the shower and splashing in the sink when we clean her up after meals. My parents got an electric, ridable train for Tennyson for Christmas and currently it is Murphy’s favorite toy. She LOVES riding it, especially when Tennyson sits in the caboose so they ride together.

She wasn’t interested in the cake but she ate the blueberries off the top and Tennyson helped out by eating a little frosting 🙂

I ordered the cake, cupcakes, and macarons from a bakery in Lake Oswego called Too Sweet Cakes. I don’t enjoy baking but I do enjoy decorating so I made the decor myself. The elements I’m most excited about are the little red heart balloons that I turned into strawberries. It’s fun to imagine something and see it come to life.

We love you Murphy Roam! Happy 1st Birthday!
